First Enterprise Partner
Hannover and San Francisco, CA - 27 April 2009. Visions has recently been selected as the first Magento Enterprise Partner on the German market by Varien, the company behind the commercial open source Magento e-commerce solution. The title has been awarded in recognition of Visions' success in developing fully featured and highly performant solutions for leading online merchants such as Jack Wolfskin and mydeco.Varien recently released the Magento Enterprise Edition, a commercial version of the leading open source e-commerce platform. The enterprise edition is especially geared at large merchants and includes features especially geared towards their needs - such as improved access control and logging, SLA-based support as well as further e-marketing tools such as Gift Cards. The Enterprise Edition is available under a non-restrictive commercial license and developed as a set of extensions on the Community Edition, which will always remain available free of charge under an open-source license.
Jointly with the Enterprise Edition, Varien introduced a new Partner scheme. The new scheme introduces Enterprise Partner as the highest level to reflect the needs of the largest online merchants for agencies whose experience in development for platform and integration with back-end systems matches the software quality of the Magento Enterprise Edition.
"We are very pleased at this recognition, which reflects our commitment to the platform since Magento's early beta days", says Alexander Ringsdorff, Visions' CEO. "At the same time, the Enterprise Edition creates a true win-win for large merchants and the community alike", he continues.
As Dimitri Gatowski, Visions' CTO explains, "because the Enterprise Edition is based on the Core of the Community Edition, merchants can enjoy advanced features and the protection of a commercial licence, while the community benefits from quality improvements and new features to the Core alike".
"Magento Partners tailor the platform to each client's needs and are crucial drivers for adoption", emphasises Roy Rubin, CEO of Varien. "Visions has already set a high benchmark in these areas, and we are looking forward many projects to come".
To learn more about Visions and Magento, we would like to invite you to attend one of Alex' presentations on Enterprise Magento at Mage::Camp in London next week (28-30 April 2009). Or meet Visions in Hamburg on 05/06 May at the Next09 fair; our booth is in the Sponsors' Lounge.
