Visions at Next09

20 April 2009 – Hannover and Hamburg. Visions is supporting the next09 trade fair as an exposition partner. The Next will take place in Hamburg on May 5 & 6 and is considered the most important trend-setting and networking event of the European Internet industry. This year's theme is „Share Economy“, relating the insights of economic theorist Martin Weitzmann – that sharing ultimately helps not only others, but also ourselves – to current trends in the industry.

Visions will show that its experience with Magento, a leading open-source e-commerce solution, is a case in point. True to the motto, „Sharing Code for Growth“, Visions will focus on two different, but related, case studies: Magento not only enabled mydeco to realise their innovative start-up business model – the same platform also helped established brand Jack Wolfskin grow their already large online business. These examples illustrate the general trend that open-source platforms are replacing proprietary solutions even at the enterprise level. Visit our booth in the Sponsor's Lounge to learn more.

The Next, which will span two days for the first time this year, promises to be an exciting event throughout. Highlights include Jeff Jarvis' timely keynote on The Great Restructuring, and Umair Haque's Keynote on Capitalism 2.0. The programme features more than 100 international speakers – from leading brands, startups and established firms alike – and is scheduled to last for over 100 hours. As an appetizer, we represent Nicole Simon's interview with Jeff Jarvis on the financial crisis, which is published on the conference website.
